Back to School with Essential Oils {Part 3)

Happy Monday friends!

This is my last post in this series.
Click the links to read Part 1 and Part 2. :)
I hope you haven't already had to deal with a nasty cold yet this school year!
Unfortunately, Brynn {my 6 month old} and I did the second week of school.
I had ordered the Breathe Again roll-on essential oil from Young Living and
I kid you not, it showed up on my doorstep the day before Brynn started
having congestion. Amazing timing.

As most of you know, there isn't a lot of medication you can
give an infant when they're sick.
Whenever I was feeding her, I would use Breathe Again and roll it on her
clothing in the chest area {i LOVE how it comes in a roll-on}
I didn't even have to put it on her skin for her
to get the benefits of it. She would start eating, which would be difficult because
of her congestion, but within a few minutes, she would be eating peacefully.

I applied it to my chest and lower neck and it really helped
support proper nasal and lung function.
I absolutely LOVE anything with eucalyptus, so not only do I love
the beneits of Breathe Again, I enjoy the smell, too.

Here's a little bit more about Breathe Again...

Breathe Again™ Essential Oil Roll-On is a proprietary blend of oils specially formulated to support respiratory health. Breathe Again contains four powerful eucalyptus oils: Eucalyptus staigeriana, Eucalyptus globulus, Eucalyptus radiata, and Young Living's original Ecuador single, Eucalyptus blue. Eucalyptus oils contain high amounts of cineole, which has been studied for its potential to support healthy lung function. The essential oils peppermint, myrtle, and copaiba also play an integral part in this blend. Breathe Again is available in a portable roll-on applicator, making natural relief available anywhere.

I hope you have enjoyed this series! I will definitely post more about which essential oils I have success with and how I use them.

Back to School with Essentials Oils {Part 2)

We are a few weeks into the school year here in Kansas
and things are starting to slow down a bit.
Well, maybe it's not slowing down exactly. I think I'm just getting used to
the craziness again. ;)

Not too long ago I wrote a post about how I've been using essential oil,
especially during the back-to-school season.
You can read my first post HERE.
Today I wanted to share another oil that has helped me so
much in these first few weeks of the school year.
Actually, I've been using Stress Away for about 5 months now
and it has helped encourage relaxation while dealing with post-partum anxiety.
I've been using it every day to help me stay calm and focused
no matter what the school day brings!
Here's a little more about it....

Young Living’s Stress Away™ essential oil blend is a natural solution created to combat normal stresses that creep into everyday life. Stress Away is the first product to contain the unique stress-relieving combination of lime and vanilla pure, therapeutic-grade essential oils. Stress Away also includes copaiba and lavender to reduce mental rigidity and restore equilibrium. Featuring powerful plant constituents, such as the cedrol found in cedarwood and the eugenol that occurs naturally in vanilla, Stress Away can help induce relaxation and reduce occasional nervous tension.

Saving my Sanity with SitSpots! {giveaway}

I love having assigned seating for our classroom meeting area.
It saves SO much time.
When I haven't had assigned seating on the floor,
I literally wanted to pull my hair out because I was constantly repeating myself.
"Don't sit there."
"You're too close to your neighbor."
"I thought I asked you two to not sit next to each other anymore?"
And so on and so on.
Kids need consistent expectations and I highly recommend having
assigned seating spots in your floor meeting area.
{it's also perfect for having partners to turn and talk, lean and share, etc.}
I've never been lucky enough to have a classroom rug, especially one with
spots for each student. I've always longed for a one just for this purpose!
But, they are not cheap and I wasn't going to pay for one myself.
So in order to give my students assigned spots, I've tried many different things.

One thing I used was duct tape to make a grid like the rug pictured above.
The tape got filthy looking fast and it left residue when I pulled it up.

So, I was absolutely thrilled when I discovered SitSpots!
They are Velcro spots that you can attach to your
classroom carpet to create a seating arrangment, spots to line up, or
whatever you might need.
You can easily pull them up and move them around to meet your class'
changing needs and I absolutley love them!
They come in all sorts of shapes and colors, too.
It took me 5 minutes to lay mine out the way I wanted and velcro them
to the carpet. My students know exactly where to sit and I'm not going
crazy over this procedure anymore!
I will say that sometimes kiddos can be tempted to play with them or pull them up
a little bit to make that fun velcro sound.
I set the expectation right from the beginning that this is very distracting and absolutley
not ok. I tell them their pockets go on their spot, so their little hands can't get
a hold of them. ;)
I am so happy with my SitSpots and the best thing is that they will
last me several years, where before I was purchasing duct tape
over and over again.
If you'd like to try SitSpots, you can request a sample to make
sure they will work with your classroom carpet before you buy.
{they do not work with all carpet!}
I love that SitSpots were created by a teacher and they are generously
giving away a $50 gift certificate to one reader.
All you need to do is enter using the rafflecopter below and
the winner will be announced Wednesday evening!
